Streetwifi, the community WiFi platform that currently operates in Paraguay and Argentina with a network of more than 25,000 access points, is starting operations in Chile. The company is opening its office at Balmoral 309, Las Condes, and launching streetwifi.cl as its site for the Chilean market.

What Streetwifi brings

Streetwifi runs on top of the ISPs’ existing networks. A WiFi network radiates from their customers’ routers and from public access points, open to anyone within range, with 15 or more free minutes per day and data packages for those who need more.

The network only uses the spare capacity of the access point and the link: each household’s contracted bandwidth is untouched, and both networks are isolated with VLANs.

Who it is for

  • ISPs, cable operators and fiber providers: a new revenue stream on top of infrastructure already deployed, with a revenue-share model and a real-time usage dashboard.
  • Municipalities and local governments: collaboration plans to extend public connectivity.
  • Shops, restaurants, hotels and stadiums: connectivity for their customers, integrated into a network with thousands of access points.

Our vision is to democratize access to high-speed internet across Latin America by building the largest and safest community WiFi network in the region.
