Answers about Streetwifi for users, ISP customers and businesses.
StreetWiFi is a connectivity service that uses WiFi access points installed on home routers and public WiFi access points to offer affordable internet to anyone who wants to be connected. Its main goal is to democratize connectivity in Latin America.
StreetWiFi runs on top of the ISPs’ (Internet Service Providers) existing networks. The StreetWiFi network radiates from all of the ISP’s customers so that anyone within range can connect. WiFi coverage is also reinforced in denser areas with public access points.
It currently operates officially in Paraguay and Argentina, and will soon expand its coverage to the rest of Latin America.

Mainly through its integrated coverage. While a mall’s or municipality’s network only works at its own venue or locality, StreetWiFi lets all those networks operate together. When a venue offers StreetWiFi, it provides connectivity on its premises and also across the thousands of access points of the global network.

Optionally, you can enter an access code to enable an extended data plan if your local ISP provided one.

Technical browsing data is not linked to individuals. The system only records connected devices and, in some cases, email addresses. Personal data is held by the entity that charges for the service (usually the local ISP), which must comply with the data protection laws of its country.
No app is needed: it is used directly from the device’s WiFi settings through a captive portal, for a quick connection without downloading anything first.
No. The service runs on the spare capacity of the access point and the physical link. If a customer has 50 MB contracted, since the fiber or cable link has a greater total capacity, StreetWiFi runs on that spare capacity without touching or reducing the 50 MB contracted.
